IATF 16949 defines the quality management system for the automotive industry. This standard was developed by the International Automotive Task Force, or IATF for short. The latest edition IATF 16949: 2016 replaces ISO / TS 16949. This industry-specific standard has an ongoing customer focus and replaces ISO / TS 16949. This automotive quality management standard describes the requirements for development and production. It is based on ISO 9001:2015 and defines the basic requirements for series and parts production in the automotive industry.
